The oppidum of Titelberg
LycéeSituated on a rocky spur of fifty hectares, naturally defended by steep slopes and a town fortification, the Titelberg oppidum, the capital of the Trevirian city, had developed an intense economic activity which had given it political and religious pre-eminence and resulted in the issue of Trevirian coins. Next to the settlement area was a ten-hectare space containing a sanctuary and a large area free of any buildings, which was probably used for assemblies of the people in arms, accompanied by ritual sacrifices in preparation for war.
