The Gallo-Roman civilization

Cycle 4

Five centuries of Roman domination lead to one of the most glorious periods in our history. The multitude of objects found on countless Roman sites in Luxembourg testify this. Many topics are discussed during the visit of the Gallo-Roman collection: infrastructure (road construction and lay-bys), Roman townships and their thermal baths, temples, theatre, religion, agricultural life (rustic villages and luxury villas), daily life, tombs and monuments. The various topics covered throughout the tour illustrate the organization of the Roman Empire in the provinces.

Dressed in tunics like the young Romans, students approach various aspects of Roman life. After the visit, they learn to use wax tablets and are introduced to Roman numerals.
