Art in Portugal The MNAA: History and Collections

In the context of the exhibition Obra Convidada - Guest Work the MNHA organizes a series of lectures on art in Portugal. After the two presentations by Anísio Franco et de Delfim Sardo, the series ends with a lecture by António Filipe Pimentel.
After having been responsible for the Museu Grão Vasco in Viseu, António Filipe Pimentel became director of the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga in Lisbon in 2010. He pursued an intense academic activity as both professor, and director of the Instituto de História de Arte of the Faculty for Arts and Humanities of the Coimbra University. António Filipe Pimentel led the Coimbra University's candidacy for the recognition as UNESCO world heritage. He was awarded the History of Art Prize of the Gulbenkian Foundation.
